Keyboard shortcuts

Every action in Alcuin is a command, and the ones used most have a key. This list is read from the app itself, so it matches the build it was published with.

In the app, press ⌘/ on macOS or Ctrl+/ on Windows and Linux to see the same list. While the cursor is in the query editor, the same keys toggle a line comment instead: a key bound in the editor wins there. Any command without a key is one search away in the command palette: ⌘⇧P or Ctrl+Shift+P, then type its name. The commands reference lists them all.

The query editor and the result grid also take the usual editing keys: copy, paste, undo, select all, and the arrow keys to move between cells.

Coming from another IDE? In Settings, under Keyboard, Keys from picks a preset: that tool’s keys where they differ from Alcuin’s, with your own changes kept on top. Each table below lists only what a preset changes; every other key stays as above. A command marked No key still runs from the command palette.
